HEALA would like to invite you to participate in our social media efforts to raise public awareness on the publication of the draft regulations on Front-of-Pack Warning labels. We would like you to assist us in amplifying our message on your various digital platforms.
As we all know, South African shops are inundated with pre-packaged foods that are processed with high levels of added sugars, salt, and saturated fats. Research has found these nutrients are connected to increased obesity and chronic nutrition-related diseases. “High in” front-of-pack warning labels, which clearly identify products that are high in things like sugar, salt, saturated fat or trans-fats will help consumers spot unhealthy foods and make better food choices.
We would like to get as many submissions as possible in support for the regulations. Please have a look at the social media toolkit we have put together. It would be great if you could use the text and images provided on your various social media platforms.
